March Hatch-Along Thread- Come Hatch With Us!!!!!

I have 3 mixed eggs in my Mini Advance, which is all I could get from my hens. They are expected to hatch on the 28th, which is Thursday. I have no Idea what breeds they are, they could be any of the following:

Rhode Island Red
California White
Buff Brahma
Black Australorp

All bred to a Cucktoo Maran Roo.

And I have a feeling I may have twin chicks in one of my eggs! I know they almost never hatch out by themselves, so I am prepared to assist if needed.

(Thank you, Sally Sunshine, for teaching me how to assist my beautiful young Serama rooster!)

Come on chickies!!

.................................................................................

I candled my eggs last weekend (day 14) and they were all moving & a grooving. No duds yet. Can't wait for them to start hatching this weekend. I'm a little worried about my easter egger eggs. The eggs are relitively small (compared my my other standard eggs), and they were covered by our brahma roo who is a big boy. Does this big boy make big babies? We'll see. I think I might lockdown a day early though to give the kiddos another day to get into position & hopefully they'll do it before they can't move around too much.

Animal /Cynthia thanks for the reply...lost another one -3 total. My daughter has named all her babies girl scout cookie names -tagalong was acting a little off last night. Just sitting there and not really moving so i picked her up and looked at her. Legs /feet are normal but its like she can't support her weight, wobbles /stumbles then sits, like shes drunk.

This morning she was at the feeder eating on her own -sitting down but eating. She seems to be a little stronger but still not as active as the others. I'm going to keep feeding her wet mash every hour for awhile. Will vitamins help at this point? Anything else I can do?

you should have a hygrometer in there for checking humidity but heck you are hatching so well so who needs it? WHHOOHOO Congrats...!!

Thank you, I was a little nervous about not monitoring the humidity but things are going great. Out of the 15 eggs 12 have hatched and one more is zipping now, and I candled the other 2 and they were completely see through. I am so excited and happy to have baby chickies
