LOL! Some might say that about me! I finally talked hubby into me buying another LG still air. YAY! Now I can do staggard hatches! I like the new design of the LG

Do you have the new light yet? Wondering how you like it ... we'll be candling Saturday. Can't wait! Sure would be nice to have something a little better for the BCMs. Have a 172 lumen Maglite - just doesn't quite do the job.Couldn't resist just ordered the 5 mode version 1600 lumens....
I finally candled my eggs and here are the results....Of the shipped BCMs 9 are developing, 3 probably not but not sure and 2 clears. I paid for 12 so i am really happy with 9 definites. I wound up with 15 or 16 lavender ameraucanas developing out of 17 or 18... 2 clears. My blue/black ameraucanas were the worst... 5 out of 9 developing. Overall at least 29 developing out of the original batch of 40.
No dont have the new light yet but the 800-900 lumen light worked pretty well. Cant wait to test out the new light though!! As for the results of the first candling... I am thrilled! Shipped eggs are always a roll of the dice (though i have been really lucky overall) and my first attempt at my lavs was a complete bust... Wasnt sure what was going to happen. The first one i candled was bad and i was worried . I am so happy most if the rest are developing!Do you have the new light yet? Wondering how you like it ... we'll be candling Saturday. Can't wait! Sounds great for your lavs!
I might have to order one and give it a try - they're not that expensive. (I keep saying that and things are starting to add up a bit. lol)No dont have the new light yet but the 800-900 lumen light worked pretty well. Cant wait to test out the new light though!! Speaking of not that expensive - this is a great idea. I have a few BCM hens that lay decently dark eggs and wish to only hatch these. A staggered hatch would help a ton. Was thinking another incubator would be too much - but not really, if just a still air for hatching (no fan or turner). Have to go check out the new LG design.LOL! Some might say that about me! Ug ... now I'm worried. Hope my little guys will be okay. I have difficulty with humidity this time of year and am trying dry incubation for the first time. Never fails that we'll get a warm spell and humidity spikes just as I've added water. Think I'll see what they look like later this week and make adjustments from there.I normally do dry incubation, but I've experienced several shrinkwrapped chicks my last few hatches so this time I'm not using water in my container, but I put a damp sponge inside when I open the bator to turn the eggs.
