Hatch date March 2nd. TODAY I awoke to 1 hatched Buff chick. Its started!

0/6 mix of Black Copper Marans and Blue Copper Marans - picked up from AHAPPYCHICK
0/6 B/B/S Ameraucanas - picked up from AHAPPYCHICK
1/6 Buff Orpingtons eggs - mine
0/6 EEs all green eggs - mine

I had one of my own cochan hens due today but when I put in lockdown on friday there was no pip. then on saturday I only peeked in and looked at the temp and humidity not the egg. well saturday night had my 3& 5 year old niece and nephew over but no one saw them get near this incubator on sunday I looked in on it and saw it had piped and was so excited, then peeped at it to see if it would answer and it did not so I looked closer for movement or breathing and it was still so I touched it and nothing it was dead

Why did it hatch so soon it was on the 18th day and that was counted correctly I was so sad

Well at least I have 5 more due to hatch out on

I set 11 BCM eggs and tomorrow will be day 14. If everything is going well, at what point will I be able to see the eggs move?

Hmmmm.... I'm on getting ready to start day 19 and I have not seen my eggs move. If you mean when candling then I saw my move right upto lockdown. Sorry if this doesn't help.

Results (almost) in from my hatch that was due March 1st

26 eggs at lock down
23 eggs hatched (21 Barnevelders and 2 EExs)
1 Barnie egg pipped really late and zipping just now. Better late than never

2 eggs unknown (one Barnie, one EEx)

Can you spot the EE cross?

I had one chick that pipped odd and actually bled a lot out of the pip area.

I ended up helping it and it made it. After a long rest and some sugar water it's bouncing around like the rest of the chicks.

Funny thing about the beauty sleeper, she was out long before her pal Miss cheepy large pip. Miss cheepy large pip I got to watch hatch out which was special for me, and for her I am sure. Of course, now I have no clue who is who because they are all yellow fluff butts. See march hatch a long for a couple of photos. I have a hard time getting good pics through the brinsea. WHen my brinsea came it was not "crystal clear" It had what looked like a haze of smallish scratches. I figure it must have got wiped down during manufacture and left the hazy scratches?? It did not affect performance though.
