Wooo hoop the first pip started yesterday! It is now half zipped and I can here cracking as I type!!!! I have 2 more pipped!!! Hatch date is tomorrow!!!

Congrats!!!! Tonight I will be going into day 20. I have no rockers or chirpers or pipers at the monent. I know I have plenty of time yet but getting really eggcited about all the piping and hatching going on in this thread!!!

There are peeping noises coming from my incubator!!! We are on day 24 but the peeping started yesterday along with some rocking eggs so we initiated lockdown early just in case. We have 25 eggs still doing well so hopefully it will be a good hatch.

I'm so excited!

I will be candling eggs this Friday, it will be day 8.
I did candle 4 this morning just because it was so dark in the parlor and I was curious.
Out of the 4, 3 are developing and looking great. The other one is questionable, but it is also very oblong like a pullet bullet and it is one of the eggs my mom gave me. We just wanted to see if was fertile and hatch.

Lockdown!

After shipping breakage I had 13 d'uccle and 8 silver sebright eggs. Last night, I candled the eggs one last time and I had to throw out all but 13 eggs. Leaving me with 6 silver sebrights and 7 assorted d'uccles. I cracked the iffy ones open and none of them had any sign of development. 13/26 so far, this hatch isn't going as well as the last one did (12/15). Still, it looks as though I do have some sweet little peepers on the way!

Congratulations to those who've already got some fuzzy butts running around! More pictures!

Woke to 3 wet peeps

and one almost completely zipped

of the 8 LF eggs of undetermined parentage

- the flock is Black Australorp and Golden Comets. One chick is black, one is light and medium red with stripes like my Welsummers had, and one is yellow with a red head. Will take picks when dry and in the brooder. I am assuming the black one is an Aussie. Since I don't know what breeds were used to get the Golden Comets..........................??? The other 4 are just silltih' there

Anxious to see what will be waiting for me when I get home about 6pm.

My freind's 2 LF eggs are in lock-down, Due the 5th.

Day 20 for me starts today at 6pm. I am glad I added the glass to the top of the box, it is way easier to see through than the plastic was. Nothing happening yet, they'll wait until after I go to sleep tonight.
