March Hatching Madness

Is this normal? This chick likes to stretch his legs.

All three have pooped, drank some water, and are pecking the food!

Silly chickie! One of my self blue d'Uccle chicks that just hatched does that. At first I was worried about it because it seemed like it didn't have much strength in it's legs. It would stumble backward, get stuck on it's back and fall asleep like that. It couldn't get up on it's own. I started giving it vitamin water with a tiny bit of GSE(grapefruit seed extract) in it. It immediately started getting better and stronger . Now it's hopping around, eating and drinking with the rest of the babies. The funny thing is, even though I know it can get back up on it's own now, I catch it every now and then sleeping on it's back but I'm not worried anymore. I can even relax it to the point that it will fall asleep and lay upside down in my hand while I pet it's fuzzy tummy! Looks just like a little teddy chicken!

That is just too sweet! I am so green that I didn't realize that I could hold them while they slept! I'm just playing with them in their box and picking them up for just a few minutes at a time.

Ended up with 16 out of 20. Ameraucana Rooster Crossed with 2 EE Hens. Made for a nice assortment of EE chicks. Hatched 3.09.2010

I'm up to five lil cuties...

2 silkes
2 RIR
1 orp

but I have two of'em that their feathers didn't fluff out all of the way...

Will i have to bath them when they get older?

Doesn't look like the feather are going to change by themselves. The lil silkie, had egg shell pieces stuck to his/her back. I got them all off, but the feathers...IDK.
thanks
