Dang it I think I accidentally hung up or else they did 😭 she said she was going to transfer me to the department that answers chicken questions and then idk what happened.

Yes they all came from Meyer Hatchery as baby chicks. The eggs also came from Meyer. But we also have tons of wild birds and turkeys here as we live in a pretty wooded area so they could have picked it up at any time over the last 5 years.

These current chicks didn’t move outside until 8 weeks old but I’m sure there was cross contamination.

The original ones were inside for 3 weeks and then outside during the day and inside at night for another 4. Last years batch was outside at a week old in the main coop.

I did also give some cockerels to someone a few weeks ago but we met elsewhere where no chickens have been and hand sanitized our hands. I also gave them the container they were in so brought nothing back.
We have tons of wild birds where I live but we don't have anything like the Mareks problem there is in the USA. The Mareks problem in the USA may well have started with wild birds but the probability is the hatcheries and breeders in the USA are the main culprits in spreading the disease.
Not a popular view with the hatchery faithful but ....

Yeah, I’m sure they probably could have it but I’m not sure. I think the problem here is all the hatcheries and commercial farms vaccinate like crazy and make worse strains of the virus (since the hosts don’t die) but I’m not sure. Do you guys vaccinate much over there?

Okay, thank you. I don’t think I have any actual vitamins. :( although I thought NutriDrench had vitamins in it? Maybe not that many? I’ve read that others have more but I don’t think I have those. :( I could go buy some though
I wouldn't go buy any. Nutri-drench has a lot of sugar in it, so I don't personally use it more than once or twice for a bird, but that's just me. But, at this point, anything that makes him feel better if you are keeping him alive until tomorrow is fine.

Ahhh okay. That makes sense. I didn’t realize that. Thank you.
