Here are Jack and Wilma. First three I took last Thursday and the others I took just now. He won’t come super close to me like the girls or stay still so he is hard to photograph. :lau

I don’t know if that’s normal rooster behavior or if he’s just a wimp?? 😂🤣

I think he’s scared of the camera lol

Anyway, I’m probably biased but I think he’s very handsome. :lau :love

And I think Wilma is lovely too.

Yes I did. I hatched Jack and Wilma too. They’re all from my November hatch.

And okay will do!!! Thank you!!!

So how would it work??? I’d just spray every nook and cranny and keep them out for the day or???

Thankfully they haven’t gone in the new coop yet and I’ve shut the gate to Red’s pen so they haven’t been able to get in it at all but I’ll spray all the coops anyway just in case.
Wash with soapy water, I used a 5 gal bucket and Dawn with a scrub brush on a long handle, and rinse, let dry. Next day you spray on the Virkon S mixed with water and soak the interior, every nook and cranny, then let dry and it should be wet enough that it takes at least 10 minutes to soak in I think. I used a hudson sprayer like this, you can get them cheap at walmart.

Some roosters are just that way I think. Pretty!

Thank you!!! I will try this!!! And you just ordered the tablets or??? There seems to be a few different versions so not exactly sure which version to get. May go to Walmart today and see if they have a sprayer. I think I’ll wait to add shavings until I clean it out?

That makes sense!! I think he’s also just a scaredy cat because I noticed when I didn’t have the camera and was standing up he came right up and pecked my toes :lau though he was still a little nervous but seemed less so. He’s also still terrified of the girls. :lau he’s a wimp LOL but thank you!! I think so too!! I hope he stops being a wimp eventually because I really would like to hatch chicks from him cause he’s so handsome. But can’t do that if he runs from them every time they look at him sideways :lau :th But he’s only 5 1/2 months old so maybe it takes time. He’s not scared of Wilma cause he grew up with her and some of the hens are nice to him so he’s calming down some. I do have one bully though who’s so mean. :(

Probably a good idea on the shavings and less work! I purchased Virkon S from Amazon and it says it specifically kills Marek's. I had enough to do my big coop twice plus the nest boxes, my mini coop once, and I gave some to my DIL for hers. So it this would last a couple years maybe

Yeah, that’s true!!! Hahah no need to do more work than necessary. :lau or add them only to take them back out again haha I hope this stuff gets here pretty fast so I can do it soon. I’ll have to choose a clear couple of days which might be a little while. :barnie

And thank you!!! I’ll order that stuff!!

Do I have to keep the birds out of the coop both days or can I let them in it at night or? I don’t really have anywhere else to put them. I do usually let them free range during the day but they need somewhere to go at night.

Night would be ok but try to get it done early in the morning so it can dry before they go to bed
