I got all the stuff and am heading over to overnight him now but I’m still not really sure why I necessarily need to do the test. I mean, I’m going to, I already called them and they’re expecting him, but no matter how it comes back, positive or negative, it’s not going to change anything. I’m not really going to do anything differently except of course not sell birds now I guess but I never did that anyway. And I was going to just presume he was positive and treat it as such anyway. So if it comes back positive, well, I was already planning to take those precautions anyway. So I’m essentially just throwing $100, maybe $130 (idk how much overnighting is), away. :th

@casportpony will these work!? I can’t find any stupid cold packs :barnie

Finally heard back from the lady. Apparently the message didn’t come through until now and she did try to call yesterday but the office gave her the wrong number so she left a message on the wrong number I guess.

I haven’t called back yet but going to after I check the body. Haven’t checked it or added ice since I did it so I’m super worried the body is too old now and was going to just treat him as positive or try to do it myself.

But hopefully the body is not too old.

Anyway, I finally listened to the voicemail (yes I hadn’t listened to it yet  ) and she said that they don’t do necropsies for what they suspect might be Mareks disease but she said I could contact either the University of New Hampshire or the University of Connecticut, she said they both have diagnostic labs, and that I could also still call her back. She also said it’d be about $100  :th So I hope to God the body is still okay because if it’s not, I’ll be throwing $100 away.
This is going to sound disgusting but until you can send the body off to get necropsied I’d suggest putting it in your refrigerator to preserve it. Or idk if they say not to then don’t. But that’s usually what I do.

Yeah I did end up putting him in my fridge today. I had him in a cooler the last couple days and he was still cold but he warmed up somewhat today. so I put him in the fridge haha

Hey girl! Long time no see.
Hey honey. How you been? I was just telling someone about my typo a year or so (prob more like three) where “chicken decor” was voice dictated to “chicken di&k wh$re”. I remember you thought that was pretty funny if I recall? For the record, so did I. Obviously nothing to do with this thread but when I seen your name, I thought of that right away. Sending love from Wisconsin!

I still pee in my pants thinking about that typo.
It was the best one I've seen to date.
