Marek's suggestions wanted

My neighbors chicken appears to have Marek's. She can't use one leg but still gets in and out of the coop on her own and hasn't lost any weight. She's been like this for about 3 weeks. At first she hopped around on one leg but now she doesn't move around much because her leg seems to get in the way. She's still very alert and energetic. Is there anything we can do to help her get around better? I was thinking maybe tie cotton gauze around her leg to hold it to her body so she's not dragging it but I don't know if that will throw off her balance. Has anyone else tried anything with success?

But I notice that you are a songster which means that you’ve been here on BYC for some time.

Are you taking precautions to protect your own flock?

It is a very communicable and deadly disease.

Even if your property is close your flock may be infected.

All of her birds originally came from my flock so if they have it mine have it and it just is what it is. I am cautious however if i were to visit another place which does't usually happen.
