I have a chicken hen on a few chicken eggs and a few duck eggs. I think the duck eggs are close to hatch time. Another chicken started giving her some eggs later, so I’ll probably take the ducklings and hope she stays long enough for the chicks to hatch.

Isn’t she a pretty gal?

I also have a call hen that has been sitting for a couple weeks. I removed a few eggs, I think I left her with 6.

As long as they can't get out of the yard, just clip one wing on each one. Then they can't fly and you'll be good to go.

Mine are pets and I have a lot to do with them. They come when called, don't go far, etc. When it's time to go back in, I tell them "go home" and they do with a gentle push.

Yours will need to be clipped, but they may get to a point where they won't need to be.

They are getting pretty spoiled in the aviary they come to the gate, and follow me around looking for their greens! The only one that really flies a lot is Pyxie (my little cripple) and I will probably be culling her as bad as I hate to
