Mine mostly only fly out of the fenced part of my yard when the boys get too “amorous” lol. They can walk thru my picket fence and around the house. But mainly they come back, without me rounding them up. I remember your yard a little from your videos, I doubt they would go out in the road, but they can be slow moving if a car comes. What’s the speed limit? My neighbor has had to stop and wait for mine to get out of the way, but we are the last houses out our road. Do you still have your swimming pool? If they find it, look out.@Overo Mare @WVduckchick ……. I need some advice regarding free-ranging my calls!
I’m going to be taking down my aviary netting![]()

One dead in shell. This one looked like it didn't lose enough moisture and has a huge, swollen head.
Sorry, I just had to laugh at the visuals of your post!Mine mostly only fly out of the fenced part of my yard when the boys get too “amorous” lol. I think @casportpony or @shawluvsbirds has some wing clipping diagrams. I’ve never clipped wings.
Also, The lines on both these diagrams are cutting it pretty close. You don't wanna get into the *quick* of the feather. You just have to judge each one individually where the quill of the feather starts to get thick. Stay on the thinner side of the quill. If that makes sense.View attachment 3415944
i like to do both sides so they aren't off balance and leave a few primaries for looks. They can still fly a bit just can't get a lot of lift.
I follow this red curve almost exactly when I cut. I also do both when I do them. Once they know that I am mom, and where food/pool is - they no longer get clipped.View attachment 3415944

Will do!Not a bad hatch! Cute little ones. More pics when they are fluffy, please!
I think the RCOM produces them. Who was that gal that lived in Texas that bred Seramas? Her RCOM did the same. The wrong-enders drive me nuts! Why, oh why?
Maybe this picture shows it better:And I don’t think the head looks too large on the dead one, I think it’s because the body is small because of the unabsorbed yolk. At least it doesn’t look too abnormal from what I’ve seen with mine. Bummer though. Looks like it was maybe another blue fawn.
