Looks like hydrocephaly?Will do!
I think the RCOM produces them. Who was that gal that lived in Texas that bred Seramas? Her RCOM did the same.
Maybe this picture shows it better:

Poor thing. Wonder why that happened. It was fluid under the skin.
I've seen it in peafowl & ducks. Not sure what causes it.Poor thing. Wonder why that happened

The three wrong enders are still alive and I will start assisting them and the other two soon. How are the wrong-ender gang doing?
If you lived close, I'd give you a couple.
Ouch, that's always stressful. Keeping my fingers crossed for you and them! The three wrong enders are still alive and I will start assisting them and the other two soon.
The three newest and had to be assisted.![]()
I figured I just didn’t see it right. And maybe mine were more swollen than I even realized, and I assumed it was somewhat normal when it shouldn’t have been.Looks like hydrocephaly?
Idk what causes it but back when i first had duck and jane she had a whole batch of eggs that died in the shell that looked like this. I thought perhaps it could've been from me bothering her too much because every time I'd check the eggs she would turn them like crazyMystery color & two blues

One dead in shell. This one looked like it didn't lose enough moisture and has a huge, swollen head.
That's interesting on the RComs. I'm using RComs and have been getting more wrong enders. With my old incubator it was rare. I have the kind with the dividers too. Wonder if the egg trays reduce that? Will do!

I've always thought the swollen heads were from high humidity too. I've seen it with peababies.Idk what causes it but back when i first had duck and jane she had a whole batch of eggs that died in the shell that looked like this. But.. knowing what i know now about humidity i wonder if the nesting box perhaps didn't have enough ventilation for the eggs to lose the proper amount of moisture. It was fully insulated and the only opening was their access door. I don't recall what the weather was like at the time but we get pretty humid weather here.
