Butterball, my (poorly colored) white laced red turkey look alike is like that. She and some of her chicks are the only one I've had problems from. She needs a nonslip floor when brooding and some of her chicks have had skull or dwarfing issues. I put her with the white pair in hopes that the chick issues were because her and the white laced red male were siblings (very likely)


So Mare, I know how much about your new pair was, how much would you say is a good, non warning sign price for Whites that are better than pet quality?

Yes, blue mottled. That’s George. He’s a fabulous old boy, about 7 years old. After fathering hundreds of chicks over the years, he is retired now and lives with the ducks and 2 mixed hens.

Really depends. I think the average is probably $150-$200/pair. I've seen quite a few in that range anyway.
