Well, I hatched Calls.

They were hatched for one of my 4-H families and were picked up within 24 hours of hatch. The boys really wanted to try call ducks and could not find any for sale. I made a few inquires and traded some eggs & birds to a friend of a friend of a friend, etc. (You would get horribly lost if I attempted to explain all the details of how I was the middle man exchanging quail eggs, turkey poults, Call duck eggs, cochin breeding pair, Spitzhauben pullet, and a Showgirl cockerel. LOL)

I'm not a duck person. I admit they're adorable, but think ducks would be too much for me. Yet, the joke is on me because now I'm left with a bunch of turkeys being raised by a serama mama in my basement. ("I'm not sure the fertility is very good," she said. I had asked for a doz eggs and was given 2 doz. I set them and hatched out 22 poults! (1infertile/ 1 quitter) I'd say the Jake's fertility is amazing. I only arranged for 6-8 turkeys. The quail eggs were for me but that hatch was also higher than expected.

Pic was sort of staged. It's easiest for me to set up a large brooder and add a small broody hen. I have a heat plate in the brooder for the "overflow" who cannot fit under the hen. I lifted the heat plate as I snapped the photo. That's why they're all clumped together on one side of the brooder looking confused.
