I sit on the with my thighs parallel to the ground. Hen on left thigh, head pointing right. Hold hen against body with left arm, extend head and neck up with left hand, open beak with right hand, place index finger on left hand in mouth to hold beak open, with right hand insert tube on their left diagnally across tounge and down their esophagus into crop.

Millie went to bed. Lucky fought me hard and it makes me scared when they do that stressed mouth breathing, so I let her go. Oh, dear. I’m a whimp.

Do you wrap the bird with a towel?

How close are you to Boulder Creek? There is a gal there that rescues poultry, she might be able to help.

being empthatic enough to not want to hurt another creature is not being a whimp! You're okay. Its normal. Its natural to have quite a bit of fear in doing this. Just it took me a lot to do it, but once I did I saw it was relatively easy and good for my bird. With each time it gets better.

I don't wrap them, but some people do.

Yes, I wrap with a towel, not too tight though. Make sure they can breathe.

Other's don't.. its up to you what is most comfy for you.
