MarineCorpFarmr Egg BOMB, A new Beginning! Follow along in his journey to a new flock!

Some pics from last night. Figuring im at about 1/10 capacity lol so miss Sally do your worst :p. Got 2 more brooders I need to construct. Both will be 2'x4'. I think my plans for a hatcher will work out well. The only hiccup right now is a latching system for the door that will seal well enough. I'll also be working out a beyyer humidity device. What im using now would work but I think I could do better.

What is the name of those pellets? I can't find them here and don't have a name for the feed store to order me any. The last place sold me TerrAmigo but that isn't the same.

Speckled Sussex is a pretty bird that has good size

Very true. I hatched 1 SpecSux from a batch of shipped eggs in late Oct. I'd never had them prior so I don't yet have much of an opinion -- in fact I've only recently concluded that she IS a pullet. I will say she is HUGE, noticably larger than her 2 hatchmate SFHs & a w/in a week same age hatchery BuffOrp pullet who she latched onto as best buddy. Since she is the only I've ever had & not yet to laying I can't really say much about her other than she is about middle of the pecking order, ie never uses her size to bully in fact I've never seen her go after any other birds, just some of the younger/smaller/shyer in that flock see how big she is and assume she should be above them. So I'd say pretty docile if this one bird is typical....? (She is in a grow out flock w/ CL, SFH, BuffOrp, EE, CochinX, & other misc. barnyard mutts) She is middle of the flock on free ranging too, literally never the fartherst from "homebase" (the coop/pen) but does range around w/o hesitation (a couple of the mutts would just as soon stand in the coop beside the bowl waiting on pm feeding). Any one else have Spec. Sux birds? Is this one typical? How well do yours lay? Mine is pure so I could track down a mate for her if it would be worth the effort to set up another seperate breeder pen... oh wouldn't the DH just be thrilled to death, NOT ;/ On the other hand, I recently bought him this wee beasty, who has no kidding more than doubled size in 2 1/2 weeks, photo is a few days old, noticably larger now. then 1 wk later So ya'll are SO GOOD w/ Chicken Math , please help me w/ mine; 1 French Mastiff puppy for the DH = ??how many more chickens for me ....??
Yours is growing bout like mine. This free "husky mix" turned out to be 1/4 husky, 1/4 border collie (?), & 1/2 rottie. Gonna be a beast. She's only 10 weeks old.
