MarineCorpFarmr Egg BOMB, A new Beginning! Follow along in his journey to a new flock!

I cant explain how beautiful iced up trees are when the morning sun hits them,... Images DO NOT do the scene here justice not even close!!! IT was AMAZINGLY beautiful yet again!

Well during this cold snap all of my chicks that I ordered died in the mail. They was DOA upon arrival at PO. They are sending more on Monday but we still have no electric because land lord is holding off on replacing our breaker box. I have chicks in the brooder in the house, teenagers in the shed still under a heat lamp, eggs incubating and the others on the way Monday and will be here Wednesday.

The 5 week olds seem to be doing ok without the heat lamp. I was expecting to find some of the teenagers dead this morning but they are still alive. We are running a 4000 watt genie atm and hopefully it will be enough to add a heat lamp for the new babies. Can a 60 watt bulb keep them warm enough if I put them in a small brooder? We are running quite a few things off of the genie including 6 PC's and the freezer. All of our food is outside in a huge cooler. Ugh I'm so tired of all this bad luck we have been having. As some of you may know we lost around $4000 dollars back in Aprill of last year on property we bought and the guy we bought it from changed his mind on the price and didn't give us the money back for the land clearing and down payment. Now we are running this genie for $25 a day, and our landlord had the nerve to ask us if we could go to a homeless shelter.... No we have animals here to feed everyday...

Ugh sorry about the rambling.....

So how close is your second batch to hatching Marinecorpfarmr? I think the one's I sent is in your second batch.

You need to get ahold of an atty immediately! A landlord only has 24 hrs to fix an electrical problem that is their responsibility & not the power company's fault. He is also responsible for reimbursing you for the generator that you have to use due to his negligence. Get papers filed. Bet it's fixed same day he gets served.

your county should have a renter's rites board of some sort.

you need to get things moving.

a 4000W generator will handle 2000W continuous. A freezer is normallt runs 100-200 watts. but 6 pcs could use up to 1500w between them - thats a lot of pcs. put the pcs in the brooder LOL

good luck going forward

Everything I found said he had 14 days... I will have to look around again.

Yeah lots of pc's. There are 7 of us here and my son is Autistic, any change in his schedule gets him messed up, and the other kids get theirs because he gets his.

With your son's special needs, check with your local mr/dd office & see if they can be of any assistance in making the landlord get things fixed or helping with the cost of the generator. If they can't then they may at least be able to point you to someone who can.
