What kind of chicken layed the eggs numbered 35-37. They look two toned white with brownish tint to them. Or are they just dirty. I think they stand out a bit. Just wondering. Im new to some of the egg colors.

they are dirty but they are also duck eggs

Hi! A black Sharpie Permanent Marker is safe for eggs and non-toxic.
I mark all my eggs that are 'potentially-for-hatching' with a black Sharpie.

Lots of threads with reference to marking eggs for hatching with a Sharpie marker. Read here:

Good luck with your eggs!

I think it might depend on the sharpie.... There are nontoxic sharpies and then there are the standard ones that give if all sorts of fumes when you pull the cap off. The nontoxic ones are more recent and I bought some to mark light colored chicks. I still wouldn't use them on light colored eggs where a pencil works just fine. I have debated them on button eggs and my really dark brown eggs.

i just was thinking you here more people getting sick from lear poisining then ink poisining, and you think about it pencils are made form wood but the actual writing is done from lead so if ink would hurt the egg wouldnt the lead too, has anyone ever thought of that, or is it that every1 was always told use pencil so thats what they tell every1 and never really thought about it, just take time and think about it

Pencil "lead" is really graphite, not lead.
