We are so excited about this swap (we had just got in touch with Jonathan when this was announced)!! We are bringing a lot of stuff!

I have the following for FREE to anyone here if they are interested!

2 silkie hens with wry neck. They were both from the same hatch and we never have had a problem with it before, or since- we tried vitamins and didn't really see an improvement. They both function fine, eating, drinking, etc, and one you can't tell until you pick her up, but she has it (they hold their head a bit funny). They are both about 5 months old and we don't want to keep them in our silkie pen as we don't want to breed them. I would really like them to go together as they are used to each other- if someone would like two hens as pets (I wouldn't breed them), they can have them free. Otherwise we will just keep away from the silkie pen and hang onto them:)!

I also have the two UGLIEST silkie roosters!! I rescued these about 6 weeks ago from someone else and they were/are in TERRIBLE shape (I mean almost totally defeathered, missing toes from last winter, etc). I have let them free range the last 6 weeks- they are great watchdogs for the flock, and one in particular is great about helping care for chicks. They are just STARTING (I mean barely) to get feathers back in, they are still in BAD shape. I don't want them running with the main flock though now, because we will start breeding our Marans, so everyone gets separated. I really pity these two guys, they are friendly and have bonded with each other- they always check to see where the other is, so if you feel like taking the challenge and letting these guys have a chance I'd like them to go together. I *think* they are over a year old, but I am not sure exactly. They are both pet quality (really NO quality, except great guards for the flock) if they had their feathers and their lost appendages, just so you know- I just felt so bad for them at the time I had to give them some happy chicken times with our flock. I just have too many roosters (but will keep them for now if no one is interested). I just want you to know that we did not treat these guys this way (you will be able to tell at chickenstock)!!! I would REALLY like to have them in a free range flock, because of their past. You won't want to use them in a breeding program, so if you need two great roos to watch over your girls (and once they molt, they will look better), then these might be for you. If not, we will hang on to them, let them molt/look a little better then free them out next year

!

I will only bring those above chickens to chickenstock if someone contacts me beforehand!! Please email me at [email protected] if you are interested in any of those birds described above- thanks!

Otherwise we will bring the following:

~A whole bunch of POL ee's and mixes

~Pet quality silkie hens (we are really culling this fall- should have really good birds next spring!!) and one or two pq roos

~Bantam cochin hens (maybe), and I think we have a young roo or 2 running around

~POL Splash Marans (maybe)

~2 pairs of Appenzeller Spitzhaubens

~ Some free roos, and other birds (we haven't decided yet!)

~Hatching eggs (my birds pretty much took off all summer with the heat and molting, so we are just now getting eggs. I'm testing them now for fertility by sticking them in the incubator- should have some chicks there as well).

I am LOOKING for-
Silver Grey Dorking Roo (or hatching eggs)
A few rosecomb hens
NOTHING ELSE (at least that is our story

I can't wait! We will be there early as we have a few birds to get tested (most of our are 4-5 months or younger, but we do have a few). Looking forward to seeing what everyone brings and chat with the other crazy chicken people!!!

It looks like this will be a great showing. I'm getting calls from all over the place and have had tons upon tons of hits on the site and I'm sure chickenjunkie has as well . My best advice is for sellers to get there as early as possible and buyers to get there as close to 8 as you can because stuff is going to go fast by the sound of things. I want to thank everyone who has helped spread the word you guys are doing a great job we have people coming from over 100 miles away

On the day of I'll be there bright and early to help get everyone situated. Can't wait to see everyone there.

We have a pretty good list of what everyone is bringing I'd like to also get a list of what everyone is looking for. I'll post it as well and maybe just maybe what you want will show up. Thanks again everyone

You got it Ronnie. Over 500 visits to my blog today and growing almost daily. We have over 20 people committed to vending and I get about 10 -15 emails a day now. Just sent out the info to everyone who bought chickens from me last year and most are coming.
