But how nice that they´ll do a swap! That´s great! At least you aren´t left with the cocks....otherwise you might have to eat them!

And you have something to look forward to in the spring.

Or......iv fed them and reared them for ten months, got attached to them because really they are pets.
Was assured when I bought them they were female not maybe! Have got to get them back to the farm today which is nowhere near me on my only day off and in March introduce two new ones which isn't going to be easy to my two stroppy leghorns.nah I'm still not happy.

Will the breeder exchange your males for adult females? If so, you´ve not lost much. If not, you still run the risk of not having pullets, because some breeds are more difficult to tell than others, also depends on the colouring. Usually by 5 months you can tell, though. I think it´s nice they´ll swap. Not everyone will do that.

Breeder has been very nice, sorry I was sold two boys instead of girls and has given me my money back, I will get 2 females in March (older ones) The chickens went back today. Im told they wont be culled and will run with the other collection of not wanted or oddballs that they have up there unless someone wants a Orp cock. Im just fed up I had them as long as I did watched them grow, socialised them so my grandson could see how great they are and then have to give them back. They really were beautiful and I will miss them and their funny ways...Hey ho....

You´ll enjoy the next ones just as much I´m sure. One of my favourite hens was adult when I bought her. And your grandson still benefited from the experience. Now you have some excitement for him in March! You did well.
