Ok, well I guess I really have to rethink the winter thing. I guess they could enjoy a bit more time outdoors. I will give that a try. Maybe I will just get a water heater device so I don't have to worry about water freezing anymore.
I think reasonably, of my 26 birds, maybe 5 are young cockerals, so that takes it down to 21. Then I could likely get rid of 5 older, non productive hens. That would bring me down to 16. That sounds reasonable, don't you think? Especially if I let them outside? CamsCluckinChicks, I can see how I could fit more birds in this space but I would like to be extra careful to not overcrowd. Of course, this means culling some but it will be better to allow the remaining hens enjoy a better life.
