MAY 2016 "Land of the Free Because of the brave!" Hatch-a-Long Hosted by, Mike & Sally

Here are a few of my girls that have joined the May Hatch Along. Also without permission.

This is the latest one. She has only been setting 2 days.

I tried to get a selfie of this one. She is in my feed room. She is about at 2 weeks.

This one has been sitting about 10 days.

Why would anyone want to go broody on the poop board??? She has been here 5 days now.

Lol! Is the first in a litter box?

I'm hoping for a few. I thought j had one looking like she might be interested but she changed her mind.
I think mine are too young still, they are about 1 year maybe a little more, most have been laying for a few months but one just decided to start laying last week (different color eggs than I had before) and it's over a year, crazy

Did I make a huge mistake? I have a Brinsea mini advance that I'm using for the first time. I missed the detail that said to turn the cooling cycle on after day 7 and started it on day 1 (this morning). I've turned it off now but am wondering if I may have ruined the batch?

You should be fine. Broodies don't wait till day seven to start getting off the nest :)

Litter boxes are my favorite egg boxes. They are portable and they clean easily. On the down side, they are too deep for the chicks to get in and out. That is not what I was intending them to do in them though. I have to help the chicks get out and then switch them to a nest that is lower, usually getting pecked in the process.

my girls decided they wanted to use the rubber feed tubs in the neighbors horse barn to brood in. So today I set one up in the coop . Talk about a hen fight!!! 3 tried to squeeze their big butts into it at once.

So....I was planning on setting SLP eggs however one has decided to stop laying! I could just get her if I knew which one it was!!! :lau. I have a lady who wants a dozen eggs but I only have 4 right now!!!! And it's been 3 days!
