You can twist anyway you want. I am right, you are wrong. If they are the "kind" that does that would imply that they in fact would.......which would make them all boys.

I think mine are too young still, they are about 1 year maybe a little more, most have been laying for a few months but one just decided to start laying last week (different color eggs than I had before) and it's over a year, crazy

Welcome broody hen!I think my hen just joined the HAL without consulting me first. The last couple weeks she has been spending extra time in the nest box, but never over night. Well, I went out tonight to check on her because she refused to leave the nest box all day. There she was sleeping with bunch of eggs tucked up under her. Figuring she finally decided to brood I went to count and mark the eggs. She nearly pecked my hand off! I actually had to get my fence-building-work-gloves just to keep from bleeding profusely. I couldn't get an exact count, but I think there are 8 or 9 eggs give or take a few. There were some decoy eggs too, but I pulled those out and put them in another nesting spot, which was pounced on by another possible broody. Things could be getting interesting around here.![]()
More broody hens! Here are a few of my girls that have joined the May Hatch Along. Also without permission.
This is the latest one. She has only been setting 2 days.
I tried to get a selfie of this one. She is in my feed room. She is about at 2 weeks.
This one has been sitting about 10 days.
Why would anyone want to go broody on the poop board??? She has been here 5 days now.
Did I make a huge mistake? I have a Brinsea mini advance that I'm using for the first time. I missed the detail that said to turn the cooling cycle on after day 7 and started it on day 1 (this morning). I've turned it off now but am wondering if I may have ruined the batch?
You should be fine.
So....I was planning on setting SLP eggs however one has decided to stop laying! I could just get her if I knew which one it was!!!. I have a lady who wants a dozen eggs but I only have 4 right now!!!! And it's been 3 days!![]()
They always do that at the worst time.
Wonderful! Good Luck!Got 10 new eggs today. I'll start them tomorrow evening. They're resting in an egg carton for tonight. Think I'll need to keep them upright for a few days, so I'll have to take my egg Turner out and hand turn the dozen already in there. Super excited for these eggs! I've got Isbar due in 11 days, and blue-laced red Wyandotte and ameraucana eggs to start tomorrow. Woo hoo! Now just need more coop space...
I have six turkey eggs in the incubator that will be due to hatch on May 23. I'm hoping to have at least one or two poults out of it when it is all said and done.
I know its not may yet but our first guinea egg hatched at 4:00 this morning![]()
