I set 20 isabel leghorns, seven guineas, and six cemanis today! And that's actually probably it for May aside from the cemanis that I will now be setting periodically.

Still only one chick, I think the malpo is dead. No peeps or anything... Day 22 now. The loner peeps whenever I am not holding her or she isn't sleeping! Being a momma hen is hard!

Well of my 5 turkey eggs 2 looked to be quitters one later than the other and 3 were fully formed turkeys dead in shell....... So 0/5 .. discouraged upset.....

Eggs cooking in the refrigerbator (aka: Barbie bator). I wonder if I have enough thermos and hygros. I think I see a few open spots where I can add a few more if needed...

Evening of day 20, 7 pips out of 18 eggs. This is the batch I've fought high humidity with the entire time and think I've lost two of the super blues.

What I find interesting is that my only BCM egg is pipped, My olive egg is pipped and 4 of the Ameraucana and Easter egger eggs are pipped. (6 out of the 7 pips are in these eggs.) Meanwhile there is only one pip in the 11 eggs that will be the super blues. Either they're late developers or.......

I just might have to repeat this. Guess which ones I did the incubation for?

yes different breeds can take longer than others yer doing great it sounds hang in there!

I see a trip in your future, to your local feed store, for a couple friends for your loner. I'm sorry you had such a rough hatch. If you were closer, I'd share some babies....

I was telling my mom I ordered a still air as a hatcher so there'd be room for her quail eggs and my eggs as the others go into lockdown and she told me I didn't have to do that. Why spend the money when we could've waited a little longer, yada, yada. And yet she was smiling

Tonight I roll in and she tells me she's remembered that a friend of ours lent us an incubator and it's still in the barn and we went up to get it and oh my goodness this thing is a beast! I've never seen this kind of incubator befor, but she's plugged in and I'm trying to get the temps right so it could maybe be used as a hatcher even though I'm mildly terrified of this tin can burning the house down...

So now I have 4 incubators instead of three if this one works out and I need more eggs xD

The thing is I wasn't even planning on keeping this un!! I'm not giving up yet, even if I have to play a video of chicks peeping to boost morale... Thanks.


Temp did go down to 92 for about 30 min after I accidentally hit the control on day 18.... could that have killed them?

Thanks! And I miscounted, I set seven cemani eggs. I currently have 69 eggs incubating I don't plan to keep all of them, but still. This is what happens when you just set a few here and there, lol.
