have to move the incubator tomorrow at 9 am to my house because my friend has 5 dogs and doesn't know what she is doing but hoping they hatch tomorrow. my friend is older and is a sheep herder with 5 dogs

Got the eggs and They were upside down and right side up so hoping they hatch today or tomorrow. Got humidity up to 60 and the eggs are laying down in the incubator fingers crossed.
sigh if they don't hatch I'll be upset but hoping they hatch in the next few days
today is day 19-20ish

I'm glad they're in your hands again.

You say that they don't know what they are doing, but why do they have an incubator?

Have they hatched before or do they just have an incubator because?

Maybe offer to buy the incubator for them so that you can do it by yourself next time. I think it is better off to do it yourself then let somebody else handle your eggs because they feel the burden if the eggs don't make it.

I say this because I had a friend that dropped off some duck eggs and I always feel guilty when some of the eggs don't make it. I know that a lot of it is beyond my control, but I still have that guilty feeling and the burden of it on my heart.

My hatch report:

53 eggs into incubator all fertilized, per first candle.
2 early quitters
51 eggs to lockdown
34 hatched, but the one with an external yolk sack passed in the cup. So 33 chicks

62 % hatch rate, I will take it for my second hatch.

In two days I will have 60 more in the incubator, 48 barnyard from Craigslist and 12 from Leeroy Jenkins (my roo). I am not addicted, why would you say that....

I added 2 bantam Brahma eggs and 3 polish cross eggs

Had a scare with my incubator! I moved the temp prob and my temp spiked to 113. But it couldn’t have been that way long. This little giant incubator is going to be the death of me! Took the lid off and cooled the eggs down. Now is back to where It should be. I’m just praying that spike Didn’t fry my babies! Luckily I I have a bad habit of checking my bators about every half hour. I have a trust issue with the temps in my older ones and I have to walk by them a lot so I always just check.

Is it still air? I heard those are no fun to work with because it's hard to regulate the temp... Do you agree?

So my early birds are running around the incubator anxious to get out, pecking at the debris in the eggshells etc. Three of the remaining 4 eggs are now pipped. This is hatch day, after all, those hatched yesterday were just early. They all started the same day. I assume the 3 will hatch. I don't want to jeopardize that by opening the incubator. If not out by morning, I'm moving the 5 fluff balls to the brooder so they can eat.

Some chicks I think will look amazing when they are feathered, and then they don't

It so odd to me that some chick color patterns have little to do with actual feather color, at least as far as crosses and mixes go. It seems like the wild looking ones always end up plain!

My little ones are starting to show feathers, I'm curious to see what they will be!

My wild looking one pretty much ended up with the same coloring but it looks even better, I will have to take a picture of it tomorrow for you.
