My broody OEGB had one external pip and one internal pip last night, so I’m hoping for some chicks today! Only problem is her nest is in the rafters, so I’ll have to move her:View attachment 2128574

Wonder how she would get the chicks downOriginally she was laying her own eggs up there to incubate, but they weren’t fertile( I have a Bielefelder rooster) so I have her three standard eggs. Honestly, it’s a miracle she hasn’t roasted up there. It gets so hot in the rafters. I tried moving her, but boy is she stubborn![]()
Lol I love that, “ Chickens sometimes are so smart they make stupid decisions”Wonder how she would get the chicks downChickens sometimes are so smart they make stupid decisions.
Most of mine are now laying eggs in the nice nesting box I bought so that’s an improvement. I haven’t seen any go broody. I’m shocked my 2 year old Cochins haven’t.
I do not know how it will feather out either. I have 3 more of these Polish Deathlayer eggs so hopefully I get a couple more with this coloring.Oh my gosh, I love the coloring! Too cute!
