May 2020 Hatch-A-Long

Well, I have eggs in the bator, but mine hatched yesterday and next bunch is set for the 30th...dang it...I always forget about the hatch alongs!

My hatch yesterday was the best ever...of 11 eggs all were hatching and #11 didn’t make it out, didn’t appear stuck so who knows, I didn’t take it completely out. That’s over 90% woohoooo!!!!

I am seriously happy dancing this morning ladies! I read all these horror stories on shipped eggs and I honestly figured I might get 3 maybe 4 chicks tops so I’d be lucky once we picked out the roosters to get any hens.

I ordered a dozen eggs , was shipped 15, culled an infertile and a blood ring at second candling, just removed an early quitter and an infertile. I have 9 hatched and in the brooder! 2 are still in the egg I opened their pips up enough to see their beaks this morning as zero progress had been made since pip yesterday and both are still peeping and moving well they both also appear to still be chewing so I’ll keep an eye on them for now. I am just so excite these guys came from New York to Michigan and my hatch rate is phenomenal!

I have never had eggs shipped. The kids grandma sent some for Easter last year. I think she had 9 sent and 7 hatched. That was my only experience with shipped eggs.
Congrats, that sounds dang good for eggs handled through the mail.

When they come from Texas... tell me how they do. Texas is the worse state to get eggs from.

Good job getting shipped eggs from a good breeder! Where did you find them?
