May 2020 Hatch-A-Long

May I join in? First time doing this, I set 13 Crested Cream Legbar eggs on the 14th. Best I can tell is that all are developing, although one, which I had doubts about to begin with, may have quit as of Friday the 22nd (candled at seven days. Very excited!

Absolutely! The more the merrier! Good luck on your hatch!

Set May 2
Hatch May 22
Total hatch 18/21

so adorably fluffy
Using Mama Heating Pad Cave - which they seem to LOVE
Lots of little quiet talking most of the time, all eating and drinking using chicken nipples beautifully

Hi gang,
I asked a favorite breeder if he would hatch some of my eggs, so I have 30 in his incubator due on the 27th. So excited!!! Some eggs were 10 days + old from a handsome roo i sold 😬. My hens have done all of the work in the past- I currently have 3 different stages of young ones now but am really looking forward to seeing what I get out of this hatch. I will also give him another 20+ to hatch for me when I go for pick up. Will be nice not dealing with a broody lol. DH made me an awesome brooder for the occasion too!!!
I don't know if I have the patience to incubate myself. Think I would be a nervous wreck.

Well! Candled for the last time tonight . Day 18 tomorrow officially at 3pm so do I turn up until 3pm or go full lockdown now ?

I couldn’t decide whether to go on lock down on day 18 or 19, so I split the difference and just put two sets of eggs on lock down halfway through the 18th. I believe you should stop turning the day before, technically you can stop turning from day 15 or 16 as far as I know. I stopped turning the day before and then put one batch of eggs on lockdown yesterday another batch today.
The first set is pipping! From what I’ve been reading on this forum, you can wait a little longer (day 19) if you’re concerned about your cell sizes. See if other more knowledgeable people chime in! Good luck!😊

This bird has been my love for many years. I gave her to a good friend last year because I was going on a vacation for 2 weeks and wanted her cared for. I got 2 of her eggs, (one dropped out of the running, then 5 days later she gave me 2 more. So the first egg is due 26th,(Monday 25th but this incubator has been running one day off) and the other 2 are due 31. I am over the moon, and swore I will not candle.:th(hen's name is Greyslyn, and my husband just came up with a chick name for it when it hatches.."frost") I always need names.
What kind of chicken is this! She is absolutely gorgeous!:love
