May 2023 Hatch-a-long

I was so afraid I would have a failed hatch - my incubator temperature may have been a bit low. I am so glad I have 5 little EEs! I turned off the heat lamp to get a picture. Group pics are always a challenge!

1 is zipping
10 have pipped
13 nothing yet but I've seen some rocking

My most recent one (the all yellow one) hatched sticky and I'm trying to figure out why.
Gave her a bath but as you can see she is still not looking very pretty.
Unfortunately I wasn't here for all of these hatches, my mom was, so I don't really know what went on with the temp or humidity while I was gone

I get the occasional one that stays sticky and I don't know why, either. It's odd.

I have 2 left to hatch, (I just tossed 3 more eggs) my latest 3 hatched and (still in incubator)... the black one's butt stuck to the egg and dragged it around. IDK if it will make it... 14 total are out,

Looks like their ART class is starting quite young.

My 10 eggs in the incubator are so strong! They might even hatch early! Who knows. My broody hen Chip has broken one of her two eggs today on accident. So she’s down to just one. It’s on day 3 (not counting day 0 of course) and I candled it tonight and there is life inside. So exciting! I hope she will be a good mama.

I guess a bunch of them waited until 3am to hatch.
I am now at 10 hatches with 1 in the middle of zipping.
I can't tell how many pips anymore because they all got knocked around.
It always worries me when an egg goes pip side down
