All these are very rare breeds and none are in the USA yet. Also great meat (Lincolnshire Buff) and egg (the other two) breeds. Great foragers, none are flighty or mean.

These DO NOT lay eggs until 50 years old!!! That is BUNK! While long lived, fertility drops around 4 and, while long lived, they DO NOT lay until age 50! In fact, I think ti would be a rare specimen to LIVE, much less LAY until age 50.

This is pure misinformation.

I should also say how much I wish this were true. I have two colors of Dewlap Toulouse- the grays and the buffs. I absolutely adore them, my favorite geese hands down. Oh, I wish they all laid and lived 50 years, but that's not realistic or true.

This thread started a while back- I'd like to hear from the original poster for an update!

I would say Silver Gray Dorkings, since new blood is needed so badly!

I just looked into importing and there is no way that I have enough money to do it. The Dorking Club there also said that breeders don't want to go through the hassles on their end.

I don't have money, but I'd be willing to trade a Dexter cow, St. Croix sheep or American Guinea Hogs for some British SGDs!
