So our little Sussex that hatched is a little baby girl! We went and got a male for my mom, but he will be a month old Monday and our girl is only a day old. He hasn't been handled so we have a lot of work to do. We also have to keep them apart until they get used to each other. I hope it doesn't take too long. We have a screen between them so they can see, smell, and hear each other. We named the little girl Precious. And she really is. She LOVES to be held. Every time I put my hand in with her, she jumps right in it. And when we put her back in her box she chirps like crazy waiting for us to come back and pick her up again. The male, he's not named yet. I'm going to let my mom name him. She is the one that wanted a rooster. He is hers. She is in the ICU at the hospital right now. She had a heart attack last week. But she is on the road to recovery. A slow road, but at least she's there. I love her and miss her, and can't wait until she's back home with us.
