May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

Tomorrow is hatch day. But I have a pip this morning ;-)

Whoop! Hatch day tomorrow here as well. No pips though. I turned my incubator up to 100.00. Im using a brinsea advance and have heard that they run about 2 degrees lower.
This is my first time in 5 years not hatching in a designated hatcher and keeping the eggs pointed up vs on laying on their side. So im kinda nervous.

Day 25 and holding out for 2 eggs in the bator still. 3 dead in shell. I think maybe I should've taken them off turner before day 18? They seemed malpositioned but I don't have any experience. The remaining two I've candled but they are blue and so hard to see! I thought I may have seen faint movement though and they passed the float test the other day. Please hatch today little ones!!

I having an issue with humidity. I have 17 LF Cochin eggs on lockdown and hatch day is tomorrow night. I CANNOT get the humidity to go above 45%. I have two bowls with water and sponges and two wet paper towels in the incubator and the water channels are filled. I've read everything I can find on raising humidity and at this point I have no idea what to do! I'm wondering if the hygrometer has just gone bad. I changed the batteries in it but level stayed the same. With as much water, sponges, and paper towels in the bator, HOW can the humidity be only 45%?

Any ideas?
. For emergency humi boost use a plant sprayer and crack the top and mist the inside of the bator repeat as needed

Welcome back! And good luck!
Thanks guys! Eggs arrived today they were man handled as per usual by my post office. The box was leaking fluid when it was brought from the back.... The box however looked perfect. The postal worker said "sorry, I don't see how shipped eggs could hatch", yeah.....thanks. I took them home and opened them up, 5 broken eggs a couple with some yolk on them so I may not set them, I did rinse them a bit I figure it would be better than dried egg blocking the pores. Sooo, I hope I get a least a few chicks out of this ordeal!

Good luck to those awaiting hatches today and the following days!!!!

Good grief it has started........................trips to the incubator every 15 minutes and I really do not expect
them to hatch till Friday....temp ran a little low.......................
I check the hygrometer and then go back and check it again in case I made a mistake..............................

I had one last week about 10 days old and do not have a clue what happened.....

Have a fun day all........

Same here!!! Yesterday the house heated up while I was out, bator went up to 102, so I turned on ac it took 2 hrs to stabilize back to 99, I get up this morning its 97!!!! Uggggggggh!!! I swear I am having my husband build me an incubator!!!! LOL

I have 13 lockdown 5 with good air cells 8 with bad ones, 3 are CRAZY wonky. I placed the eggs so if I have to reach in and snatch a wonky celled egg it is closed to the side!!! LOL

I did my 1st upright hatch this year. Its amazes how much less mess there is. And all my chicks did fine. 10 in 10 out! And 95% of the shell mess stayed in the egg carton. Made for a very easy cleanup!
