May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

Well I just candled my Frizzle Polish. I have 2 more quitters. This is day 16. I had hubby do an eggtopsy. This egg looked like the other one from today, and the one I found yesterday. You could see the chick and yolk but all the blood vessels were gone. I am perplexed! I only have 3 left now! I have a pic, not sure if it is suitable for viewing....lol
that sux i wonder whats up?

Well I started with my 42 egg incubator filled with unknown eggs from an auction sale:

38 eggs went kicking and screaming into lockdown.
Now I am on day 20, and I had to empty out the chicks from the incubator.
They started hatching on day 19, and there were 20 chicks in there when I got home this evening.
Normally I hate to disrupt lockdown, but 20 chicks in there playing soccer with the remaining eggs was too much.
I pulled the chicks, and the shells, put a warm soaked sponge in, and quick shut it back down.
Here are a few so far:

This one came from one of the blue eggs, and was first to hatch

Had to do a small group shot!

And a bit bigger group.

And of course the whole group so far,
There are lots of pips, and a zip left in there to hatch tomorrow.

Sounds to me like whoever sold them, they had already started being warmed? That is a great looking bunch of fuzzy butts!

That is what I was thinking. Maybe they were collected over a longer period, and stored a bit warm. I noticed that it seemed to be a bit of a difference in the development when candling. If I did not get another one to hatch I would be more than happy. I only have $7.50 in the eggs.

Jim.....looks like you got one heck of a deal!!!!

Picked up 29 eggs at a chicken exchange last week, will be candling tonight! Sure hope they are developing, I went all out with the fancy eggs; some Cream Legbars, Blue Barnevelders, Swedish flower hens, Olive eggers, and of course, some mystery eggs. Everyone needs a few mystery eggs to add to the mix! Hatch day should be 5/19 if everything goes right.

Haha! We just can't ever get enough incubators, lol. I have two, but could really use another one. The chicks are easy to sell, so I'm actually making money of it - and it's pure fun!
Hi this is kind of unrelated but you said you were selling the chicks and I was wondering if you need a license to sell chicks or if you can just sell them to anyone without any credentials because I cant keep my chicks. Thanks for any answers!
