May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

Question, I have one egg that pipped at 4:00 am that hasn't started zipping yet. He has a pip about the size of a pea and sticks his beak out and chirps but isn't making much effort to do anything. Another one has managed to stick his right foot through the shell and his head is under the leg. He's been stuck like this for about 5 hours.

At some point should I assist one of these two with their predicament?

Thanks.
the first one is probably fine .Can take up to 24 hrs...........from pip to hatch.............
Have you read when to assist listed at the top under incubation and hatching thread........??????????
I think the one with it's leg out needs help.
Not sure about how many hours.............based on where you live.
Have you assisted a hatch before?

I looked in the incubator last night and to my suprise there were 4 chicks in it! They weren't supposed to hatch until saturday, but oh well now I have little chickies 2 days sooner!

Fidel/Fifi is doing AWESOME. I went to the feed store and bought a "mixed bantam" as a friend. The chick is eating and drinking now too. The little bantam has got it really moving around!

It has been 7days I was wondering if it is to early to candle my eggs in the bator
Not too early to candle on day 7. I had brown eggs and found the eggs to most fun to watch on day 10. I could really see them moving in there on day 10...after that they started to get more cramped.

Mel just did one the other morning read back a few pages and she posted a link to the video she shot when she assisted it is a awesome clear video it might help you with technique you need to be careful about the membrane and any active blood vessels check it out it will help

It was so weak it layed like this for hours.

But a lot of patience and sav a chick, this is Fidel/Fifi at 12 hrs old. Still a little weak, not eating or drinking much yet, but very lively. Already getting the Polish crest! It was almost 2am before I got to sleep, then woke up with and earache. I despise them as much as a toothache!!!
beautiful! You did a good job!
