May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

I have my first ever hatch of quail (Bobwhite) due March 5 or there abouts. 2 Breeders went in together. Some eggs are local the others were shipped. Watching them like a hawk.....

YES YOU CAN - No stress here!! Good looking set of eggs - what kind are they??

:yuckyuck  LOL - Can we say strict! Okay I have to admit I'm only a few years older than 28 myself and my parents would have grounded me just to have the grandkids around!! I've always heard people say that if they could have had grandchildren first then they would not have had children - it's sad when you see that it's possibly true.

Well - I couldn't wait till tomorrow so I just loaded my 26 eggs into the bator - should hatch May 16th or 17th.

HAPPY HATCHING!!

I'm lucky that I get to see the grandkids almost every day. We bought the house behind my son a few months ago so they literally walk through the woods to grandmother's house lol.

Yeah - I think it's more of an addiction - kinda like the addiction to hatching eggs - can't just stop with one batch!!

We just moved about 25 minutes from my parents back in October and I think they are going through withdrawal - they went from seeing the grandkids almost every day to seeing them only 3 to 4 times a week and then they call every day - it's like I took away their pride and joy! However - I love the fact that they love my children soooo very much (grandparents like that are worth their weight in gold

) and my children have an open invitation and know that I will drive them to Nana and Papaws anytime!!

They're Ameraucanas and buckeyes. I've been hatching chicks for 6 years and have always had pretty successful hatches. But this year I've spent $300 on hatching eggs and have no chicks to show for it. So I bought a new brinsea advance and will dumpster the LGs. ! Problem is, I needed to set the eggs today and the brinsea doesn't get here till tomorrow afternoon. So Hopefully if all goes well and i have stable temps, ill change them out sat or Sunday and put them in the brinsea.
