MBTI Personality Test, Anyone?

There's newer science than that.
Dr. Dario Nardi published his book "Neuroscience of Personality" with results from his EEG studies on students at his university.
He found an 80% correlation in brainwave patterns among individuals of the same type.
In his book he shows diagrams of the typical brainwave patterns and discusses the brain regions in use.

Most of the detractors regarding personality type are focused on the instrument (test) not the system of cognitive functions proposed by Jung.
Myers and Briggs tried to create an accurate test to make Jungs work easier to apply. In some ways they succeeded and in others they failed. I don't think that should apply to the functions.

And in Psychology circles, they prefer instruments like the Big 5, which is predicated on the most ludicrous system. They have such a st
I don't disagree with the common tendency to conflate the testing methodology with the actual Jungian system behind it. That's exactly my point, though. None of these online tests can successfully eliminate the inherent bias of a self-reporting assessment and the self-fulfilling prophecy I mentioned before. They're a fun novelty, but they're not something a clinical diagnosis should ever be solely based on. People lie to themselves all the time to get a result they find meets their opinion of themselves / their reality.

Understanding Personality is far more nuanced and detailed than the MBTI can deliver. All I'm saying.

--edit: Here's the INTJ vs INTP coming into play :p

Interesting- I have never taken one of these before. I am going to look into it more.
It's been fun to learn about. I'm not normally the type to like labels (as such), but it's helped me to understand why I look at the world the way I do.
I took it for a second round and this is what it gave me:
You got more introverted and more stressed out! Uh oh. Have people started showing up at your house for a New Years Eve party??

Mine changed from when I took it this morning to when I took it now. I don't really trust it much either considering that I don't always have good self-assessment. I always think I'm quiet though The Siblings say they can hear me everywhere.

That's a really good point. There's who you want/strive to be, and who you actually are. Not everyone has good self-assessment.

I'm still an Advocate.

Functions...
Mental strengths and weaknesses (aka type) don't transmit as a whole unit. It's more complicated. Functions are passed down and with the typical lottery system of other inheritance.
So grandparents matter too.
My mom is an ISFJ (Si, Fe, Ti, Ne). father an ISTP (Ti, Se, Ni, Fe)
I got Ni, Fe, Ti, Se.
See? Functions.
Lol I'm probably so annoying.
You are good! Not annoying! It is intriguing, to be sure.
Incidentally, my father, brother, and son are geniuses (if you put any stock in the IQ thing). That always fascinated me.

There's so many Advocates here! Did not expect that when I first posted, but I guess it makes sense with the nature of BYC (helping people and problem solving on your own timeline).

Also, thanks to everyone that's shared and discussed so far! It's been a lot of fun. I'm wondering if we can find one of every personality type on the site!

I tried to take an IQ test the other night and had to quit halfway through. No, I don't see the pattern in 1-56-312-87-4-198234-5-2, but I guess there are people who can? I also thought I had a decent vocabulary, but again, nope! I'm an ooga-booga type of gal, and that's fine by me.
