Don't you just hate it when you go to a drive thru window and after paying at the first window (they got your money!) when you get to the service window, you're asked to pull up and wait...er, doesn't that cancel out the need to drive thru?

Happened to me today. In 103 degree heat, was asked to pull up and wait...i waited...and waited and waited. Let me encourage you all to make online contact if you're ever in a situation like mine today. Here's my story and what I sent to McDonald's corporate on their website today.

Comment: I drove through and ordered a southwest chicken salad grilled. After paying and arriving at the service window, I was asked to pull up and wait because the chicken wasn't ready. Grudgingly I pulled up. Lately everytime I've visited this restaurant I've been asked to pull up. There was one other customer pulled up and waiting before me. After I had waited for 10 minutes, the other customer got out of her vehicle visibly upset and went inside. As she was coming out with a full refund, and my time waiting was now 14 minutes, I went inside and asked them what was holding up the salad that I had been waiting so long for. Finally someone came around the counter and gave me my salad without so much as an apology. The next time I drive thru and am asked to pull up, I will exercise my right to refuse to do so.

Sounds like you need to order a large chocolate shake and "Fire in the Hole" them for making you wait!

When I was stationed in Hawaii, there was a Jack in the Box near the base that was terrible for making drive-thru customers wait. I went there and they told me to pull and wait. I ended up going inside to complain. All in all it took them about 40 minutes to make a drive-thru meal. The next time I went they took my money, smiled pretty and said, "pull ahead and wait please." I refused and sat there blocking the drive-thru for until they gve me my meal. The clerk was beside herself. She was convinced that I just couldn't do that. It did speed them up a bit. It only took them 20 minutes and cost them quite a few sales because the drive-thru was blocked. If they can't prepare the meals quickly, they need to discontinue the drive-thru.

The mcdonalds by my friends house has AWFUL service! Doesnt matter if its 8 in the morning 2 in the afternoon or 3 am (yes... haha) they are ALWAYS the SLOWEST RUDEST people!
Ive waited 20 mins at the window before...
I snatched the food and gave them a eat poo and die look.

I like chick-fil-a myself. ALWAYS polite workers and prompt food service. I have NEVER had to 'pull away' to wait on my food.

Oh wow Jody! No way I would have waited 40 minutes. I would have been livid and most likely would have cleared out the whole place with a lovely temper tantrum! 14 minutes was ridiculous to wait for a salad, even if the chicken was supposed to be grilled. You know that chicken is already cooked and all they have to do is put it on the grill and flip it.
