i'm considering ordering chicks, how was your experience w/ mcmurray?
Ordered 25 chicks and they shipped 25 + 2 free ones. All are almost 5 months old and doing well, except for in-laws dog ate two.
im hoping to by some chicks from MM and ive read all these different custamer reports,they sound the ones you want get your chicks from for sure!!!
I just received the rainbow layers assortment from them. I ordered 25 and got 28. One of them was blind and didnt eat and had to be put down but other than that they seem to be doing great.
I ordered from McMurray this year and had no problems at all. I ordered 26, received 27 all of them were very healthy and and have been thriving. I think that they do a good job and I would order from them again.
I only buy hatchery chicks from McMurray. I have always had a very positive experience over the years.

Sometimes, with MM, there is a strain of a particular breed that is not so good. Like, all the Cuckoo Marans I got from them had crooked toes, and the Mottled Houdans all died in the first few weeks. BUT if you tell them right away, about deaths, they will credit you. And they are on top of shipping pretty tight. Never a late shipment in my experience.
bought one time before and had a bad experience. Only 8 out of 25 were alive the first shipment. 2nd shipment was only 10 out of 25 alive so i just got the difference in my money back. Since then i just buy locally from fellow breeders. Wont buy from a hatchery ever again!!!
I DROOLED over the MM catalog for years! I made so many imaginary lists...omg it was pathetic! lol
when the time came to order I was SO excited! I proudly phoned them up. The customer rep I talked to couldn't answer my questions and my order could not be fullfilled even by half. i just had high egg-spectations and met with baf customer service. needless to say i never placed an order so I dont know how the rest of the transaction would have gone
