I had gotten some meal worms from Petco and then they developed into beetles. Well, I saw some little baby meal worms, so I finally separated the beetles from the baby meal worms. But, I have a couple of questions.

I know some people use like 3 containers, but I'm still confused. When I start seeing babies in the container I put the beetles in, then what do I do? It seems like it would be an ongoing thing of putting the beetles in another container and have several containers of babies. I mean, I know there will be eggs and possibly tiny baby meal worms that I can't see so I don't even understand how to do a total cleanout/change of the substrate because it seems like you'd be losing some of the eggs and/or baby meal worms.

Right now I have 2 containers...one with baby meal worms and one with beetles and I'm expecting any day now to start noticing baby meal worms in the beetle container and then I don't know what to do....put the beetles in yet another container or dump the substrate in with the babies and use new substrate for the beetles? See, I'm confused...LOL

Oh, and about what size can you start feeding the chickens meal worms because a lot of my little tiny baby meal worms now seem the size they were when I got them at Petco and shortly after turned to beetles?

I see this question was from2009, but I've got the same questions and I wonder if you're still around, and what you finally ended up doing?
