Mearns Quail care

I have been interested in the Mearns Quail for quite a while but I have a few questions to people that have kept them. 1. Are they monogamous? 2. How much space per bird? 3. Food for adults and chicks? 4. How do you care for chicks is it similar to old world quail? 5. And is there aggression issues I should worry about when they get older? 6. My last question is if this website https://clevelandquail.com/ is a reputable seller and if there are any breeders in Kansas. Thank you for reading!

2. Around 15 sqft per pair
3. Feed with 30% protein
4. 5 weeks of heat
5. There shouldn't be except maybe during breeding season which is around early summer

I have never raised Mearns quail...there's definitely a sharp 'learning curve' to raising them and not a beginners bird to raise.

Do you think it will be possible to live in wire or a aviary build?

I think so but it'll have to be quite big

Do you think it would be better off to get eggs or a pair.

Well a pair would be harder to find for sale, but if you buy eggs, there could be too many males.

I'd say depending on the size of the coop/aviary, around 4-6

The article says that raising it with other quail breeds so it can help them learn some skills faster.
