Memorial Day hatch along

I will have three babies by morning. I had two of the five that made it to lockdown die one right at the start the other sometime yesterday before it even pipped internally. But I had three peeping ducklings fighting their way out of their shells when I went to bed.

I have three in cup jail and lost one that made it to lockdown. The one I lost looked like it pipped into its yolk and passed. The other ones were trying to kick out of shell with a yolk bump on their belly still so they went to cup jail so they didn’t get hurt.

As of now we have five pips. 3 EExEE, 1 Brown LeghornxEE, 1 rando brown egg x EE. Others rocking and rolling.

It sounds possible that humidity was too high.

My humidity has been at 55-65 for ducklings. One was almost super glued to part of the shell when I left for work. I worried that they it was too low.

I’ve got a broody who’s been sitting since the 2nd! I’ve candled the eggs a couple of times and they all seem to be developing at the same rate. Nothing to see now except the air pocket. How do you tell at this point if the eggs is still viable? (One exploded on her legs! I still have that nasty rotten egg smell in my nose!) Keeping my fingers crossed she hatches the remaining eggs out.
