I'm a male who likes poultry. But, in addition I'm drawn to the challenge of designing and building a better coop, laying out fencing, defeating predators, fine tuning the incubator, plumbing a more efficient watering system, etc. In other words I'm always on a mission. I think if more men knew with poultry they get to play engineer, electrician, carpenter, plumber, and defender of flock they would love to be involved. I come to BYC to fine tune those skills.
ROFL I just choked on my coffee, ya tryin' to kill me!I clicked on this in the hope it was a topic with half-naked hot men holding beautifull poultry... am disappointed :'(
When I married my hubby 12 yrs. ago, his son was about 13. Over the next few yrs., hubby and I and his youngest daughter watched a lot of football together, but when I asked his son why he didn't seem interested, he said, "It's something I want to do, not watch." That statement stuck with me. Hmmm!![]()
We don't intend to talk much.so we really don't talk much about them, but we love our chicken in any kind of cooking method there is out there

And sadly, he’s right. So many tend to flog like an old rooster. And I hate that.He was in the showerbut I got da goods! Okay, first of all, he's about the male-est man I've known (60 yr. old retired "grunt" of 23 yrs., Army/Oregon National Guard), unquestionably "guy thought processes" in his noggin. LOL! He says he'll scroll through and read but rarely posts to threads because of previous experiences with trolls. =( He mentioned for example saving a little 7 yr. old girl who was being torn to pieces in his front yard, years ago, by a pit bull. In his colorful language
he mentioned trying to discuss the pit bull dilemma on FB and a certain element is just completely unreasonable (all of this just for instance), so he quit trying to interact completely yrs. ago. He says that sooner or later someone rips into you for having wrong opinions, etc. =( So he'll read and surf around, exactly like your hubby, @Chick-N-Fun , but he won't chat.
So there's one from the Chicken Gallery.![]()
Ditto all Dat!In my current life, I don't do Facebook. I don't answer phone numbers I don't recognize. I have a gate across the driveway. But I do love BYC. People here have differing opinions but don't resort to name-calling or insulting responses. It's a safe, welcoming place to learn and share experiences.
Maybe if the whole world followed that good example ...
BikinisThe members of BYC are predominantly female. Why is this?
Where I live out of the 18 people I know who keep chickens 17 are men.
I would like to see a better balance. What could be done to attract more men to BYC?
