Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Ok, How many BAD pictures does it to take to finally get a GOOD picture of your chickens? I must be doing it wrong! I can't keep these buggers still long enough to get decent pictures!

A million! You should see how many pictures I have of chickens on my phone. Multitudes more than anything else. And it's just because you have to take a million to get a good one.

This is the best I could do in the way of pictures today.
Sarsaparilla - cuckoo marans

Strawberry - speckled sussex

Eggplant - black ameraucana
Comb is still questionable. Not worrying too much yet.

Plum - lav orp
Pretty sure this one's a boy. Almost two weeks old and no tail yet. This comb is looking boyish to me.

Olive - light brahma
Also has no tail yet. Makes me wonder. And very slow feather growth overall.

And the older ones:
Peppy - black ameraucana
No crowing and still bottom of pecking order. Still a sweetie though. He's one week away from 5 months old.

Apricot - buff brahma

Kiwi - Delaware - laying her egg like a good girl! And Persimmon - RIR - still broody.

MIA: Pumpkin - welsummer. Won't stay still long enough for a picture.

We have an Apricot too. The only themes we have is that all EE's get named after a type of honey and any color rocks get named after rocks. The EE theme started with our first EE, Honey. She was unfortunately a casualty of the cat just a few days old. He has since lost interest in these noisy things in the house. Next was Amber (still have her), now we have Clover and Blossom.
Out of the 7 chicks we got at Big R, 2 are roosters. The SLW which I was pretty sure would be a girl due to a flat comb, has sprouted a huge red comb and wattles overnight! The EE I was worried about from the start due to ridges on the comb is also getting a much larger comb than the other EE. I'm not 100% on the EE yet, we'll have to see how the feathering comes in (splotchy color = boy, uniform color = girl).

Our animal names:

Carter (Blue CM)
King (Silkie)

Apricot!!!!!! She is lovely and such a great name!!!
Of course Peppy is quite handsome as well... the girls will be drooling over him in no time LOL

we did butt check on 28 birds every night for about 3 weeks. We had just a couple that needed more help, we used a Calendula Salve I had made. This helped them tremendously. I definitely don't miss the poopy butts!
No dirty butts on any of my chicks this time around!!! That is so much extra work when that happens and I wasn't appreciating it enough when mine didn't get it!!

Ooh! This good be a great way to get some new babies!
All our grade schools made a strict science curriculum for kindergarten and hatching chicks isn't on it so no more. Sad. They are starting to teach to the standardized tests at the K level!!

Absolutely ridiculous! NOTHING shows that this is helpful. In fact research is all showing the complete opposite as far as higher learning/thinking is concerned. When will the schools get the picture!?

When the states stop doing the pointless testing non stop throughout the school year maybe????? I KNOW. It's a shame. I think if I had kids now I would have to think about home schooling.
Although then I couldn't go shopping.
Never mind.

SERIOUSLY! I don't have kids yet, but the thought of sending them to school scares me. The schools here teach the standardized tests because they rank so low in the country. Yikes!
