I have no idea
I haven't been to a chicken show either. I'm not sure where frankenmuth is, but I'd like to check it out. I don't know if you need tickets to just enter or what the story is.
I just want to go look around, and see what's there.
Blue moon- it is about 1 1/2 hours north, Birch Run exit. No tickets are needed, it is free to the public
It is a nice day trip.
Kassy68- Most poultry sell on Saturday. Sunday's show is the championship rounds and is done by 11am.
To sell poultry, you must sign up for a sale coop, which is $3 a cage. today is the deadline to register for the show/sale. All poultry must be pullerum (sp) tested to enter the show area. Testing is done there for $1 bird. I believe testing is done at 9am when the show starts on Saturday.
To purchase poultry- The good stuff goes early! I would plan on coming in the morning if that is your interest.
I hope this helps! I just mailed our enteries... talk about procrastination!
I really want to go to Fowl Fest this year just to check it out and meet other poutry peeps. I would probably just come Saturday...hopefully I can get work off....
Thanks Wylie. I won't be purchasing any birds, but maybe some other bird related things
I haven't been to frakenmuth or birch run so I'd love to go check it out.
Our rooster decided to attack our crazy lab mix over the weekend. He flew over a 6 foot fence ( the dog has his own yard because he's a spaz) right into his mouth basically. It didn't end well.
My DH loved that rooster. He even named him.
We have fertile eggs, and Opa was so very kind enough to let us borrow an incubator. I haven't hatched eggs before, but put them in this morning. They are due to hatch ( if all goes well) Oct. 21st. So, I must stay strong, and not purchase any birds.
