Michigan Chickenstock!!! Lansing area, August 1!!!

I thought I saw someone in a Grubb Waterfowl shirt there towards the end of the day. Maybe I am wrong, but seems like I did.

Maybe someone from the Frankenmuth area could suggest a meeting place? My oldest is thinking of showing in showmanship and we are thinking of entering some birds since we will be there! We are thinking of camping, I checked out the camp grounds listed, the first doesn't give a price and doesn't have showers, the second is jellystone, pricey but I am sure nice and the third is pretty reasonable. Anyone else want to camp? It would be fun!

Rotating the area each time is a great idea though, so everyone can make it!!

I also like combining it with other events like this, it makes it fun and you get more bang for your gas money!!

Wynette, I think you did a wonderful job!
Sarah it was nice to meet you. I wish you could have stayed longer. Your dog is gorgeous! How did the rest of your dog show go?

Dog show results, coming up!

Mind if I post this on the MI thread, too?

Thursday:
Won her class, Female Puppy 9-12months, took Reserve Winners B(female).

Friday:
Won class, won Winners B(female), Best of Winners (over Winners Dog), and Best of Breed. Didn't get anything in Group.

Saturday:
Won class, won Winners B, Best of Winners, and Best of Opposite Sex (Best of Breed was male).

Sunday:
Won class, again took Reserve Winners B.

All in all, a very very good weekend for her. I was in shock to win Best of Breed!!!

Awesome weekend for you Sarah and Hema!! We looked for you Sunday, actually saw you as we drove in but we were running late, so we parked and hurried to the boston ring and then by the time we walked back to where we saw you camped, it looked like your tent was gone and we had missed you. Glad to hear you did well, she is a beautiful girl!!

Hey, thanks! Yes... my mom wanted me packed and on the road by 10:30 on Sunday. I believe I pulled out at 11, oh well.

I forgot to mention: The little white bantam cochin roo and splash hen spent the night in the tent with Hema and me Saturday night. He started crowing at 6:00am the next morning and woke up the surrounding dog-show campers! It was rather hilarious... I ran their cages to my car and locked them up tight until later in the morning! Then, during the day, people kept coming by asking where the chicken was!!!

I missed Chickenstock due to a family gathering. Fowlfest is on my calendar, though! I know that there is food service in Kern Pavillion from 9-1. It might just make it easy on folks to set a gathering time & have everyone buy their own brat.
However, weather permiting, everyone could meet in one of the pavilions in Heritage Park. Although the pavillions can be reserved (fees rangefrom $95-$200!!!), they do not have to be rented. They are available on a first-come basis if they are not rented.
