Michigan Hatchers! What'cha got cookin?

Pics
My roos only get debreasted out as they are bantam cochins. At 2.5 months old I put them all togather in smaller pen and pack the feed to them till butcher time.I realized cause of their small size, not worth doing a full butched so I take breasts and somsometimes legs. If decent size, I will do a whole bird. But only had 1 like that.
That's a good idea...saw a video of a guy doing that.

It's started! One minute I see nothing, the next....

And then I notice this ...

My entertainment is secure for the next few evenings! This is day 19 :)

Chick TV is fun!
One thing I don't like about the brooder 'plate' is that you don't get to see them sleeping....they, like, disappear!
Have fun Jackie!

Well my 23Rd day has passed. 8 went into lockdown only 3 hatched. Checked the 5 that didn't hatch. Fully developed chicks. I did dry hatch until day 18 then had humidity at 60%. They were all active when they went into lockdown. It seems like I always have this problem. I need advice as to what I am or am not doing. Its sad having to open eggs with full babies...

@morrisonmanor are the chicks in the right posistion, have they pipped the inner membrane, what does the inner membrane look like when you open the shell, have they pipped the shell if they've pipped inner membrane? If you can answer some of these between us all on here we should be able to get it figured out for ya :)

All of the above, and have you calibrated your hygrometer recently?

Were chicks wet, or goopy looking?

The weather yesterday was not needed. I ordered some more eggs...and guess when they were delivered. So, the box was marked on the outside to hold at the post office, and call, with my phone number . Well, that didnt happen...instead, my eggs went on a wild ride all day with our mail carrier, including getting stuck in the ditch 6 times. I called the post office a couple times..and was told I'd have to pick the packages up at the post office the next day. So I show up at the Post Office a few minutes before 5..hoping that the package has made it back and I can pick it up before they close. Well, it wasnt there. After a lengthy discussion, I get them to call the carrier and find where he is so I can go out and meet him to get my eggs.

After driving around, looking for the mail truck where they said he would be...I head home...and there he sits in my driveway waiting for me. If it was that easy...why didnt they just ask him to stop by the house again???? Ah well, unpacked the eggs, had a few broken ones...and let the rest sit overnight. I'll put them in the bator when I get home from work.
