Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Anyone need more chickens? My ultra crabby neighbor is on the prowl. She wants everything gone. She's going to the township to complain. Thus lady has done nothing but complain since she's lived here. Dogs 10 acres away make too much noise. Time to get myself a lawyer I guess. I hate it when city people move to the country!

This is why we can't have nice things.

Look into this organization, http://www.farmtoconsumer.org/about.html

Thanks for that link. I'm sure it will help many.

So glad I live where I do... And my neighbor buys eggs!! Only five houses on my street and State land at end! Deal with wetlands and predators need to be watched for but none of that city stuff or urban stuff for that matter.

I have a jerk of a neighbor too. However he don't complain about all my critters (130ish), but dose about us cutting trees on our property and in the creek that divides the property lines. He thinks we cut and sell the wood and steal it from his property. BUT we informed him we don't burn or sell wood. Just cleaning the creek out for the native fish and wildlife. If he wants the wood then take it. And he never dose. He complained about the neighbors Harley shop and other neighbors dirt bike track. He says he moved to the country for piece and quite. I told him your 4 miles from a very busy town and a main highway. Your barley in the country. I can hear the train that goes through town every 20min from our house. Sorry bud, move further away!

Other then that jerk, all seems good otherwise.

I started going to meet chicks too. I thought that this was a dating site. I had a typo that said Hatch dot com instead of the other one and was re-routed here.

So are you going to pull up the dead weeds?

Ya, there is always that, right?! Actually I think I'm going to scrape them off with my flat blade shovel. Today I planted a few odd Cosmos left over from my wintersowing/soil growing experiment (which worked very well btw) and cleaned out the pen and the houses to add that to my melon patch. Melons are still in their jugs tho... No later than this weekend!

That is a fantastic bird count! Sends a little shudder down my spine though, mine around here are not scared of me either. Terrified of letting my girls wander!
