Sorry, the other two didn't come through in my other post.

Mine have a more rusty/brown look to them. I'm worried it may be bacterial leaf spot, but of course that's the worse case (it's like when you look up a symptom on webMD and your slight cough or itch turns into full blown cancer with a side of hepatitis and a lupus dessert) so I'm going to try and not worry too much about it. If it is, there's nothing I can do at this point anyway :-/
SO TRUE.

X4! Regarding Opa's sweet coop.

My chickens actually DON'T go bananas for mealworms like I thought they would. I've sprinkled them, put them in with their regular feed, given them to the ladies out of my hand...I thought they'd riot for them, but no.

I confirmed I have at least 1 male duck last night. There's no way he's the only one, I couldn't have been that lucky. One of my KCs. It's looking like both my pekin are female.

I am 90% sure we got 4 of 8 drakes.. 50/50 split

yea, I vent sexed them, but there is no possible way only 1 in 6 are drake. If so, I should start playing the lottery and hit the casino. I clearly am just not very good at vent sexing yet; they say it takes practice.

I'm feeling fairly confident that both my pekin ducklings are female though. I had one out in the yard with me today for a lil while and it saw a daddy long legs crawl up on my arm. I brushed it off and the duckling immediately snatched it up off the ground and ate it. I told the Mrs she can't hate the ducklings anymore because they eat spiders and she hates spiders :p

I had a duck egg sandwich for brunch. It was super tasty. I"m enjoying the eggs from the farmers market.

Hey, I'm new, I don't have chickens yet, but I plan to very soon after I move into my new house! It's cool to see so many Michiganders on here!

Welcome Sue. I'm new myself, have had my first flock for about 3 months now. They are very interesting to watch as they grow.
