Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Well... Noodle was in the nesting box tonight... Maybe she will grace me with an egg in the morning.
Maybe she is just hidding out from the 2 frizzles that just started roosting last night. Once I took Nugget out of the coop they decided to get off the floor and become real chickens LOL. He is the man of the coop now!

My son has a mild croup. No "barking" yet... hopefully it won't get that bad... and a slight whistling when he breathes out. I gave him cough syrup before I realized what it was

I put him in the bathroom and turned on the hot water until it ran out,
I put Vicks on him,
I sucked the boogers out of his nose,
I put the humidifier right next to his bed,
I boiled water and put tea tree oil in it and had him hold his head over it with a towel,

But you want to know what helped him the most?
Bundling him up and sitting on the porch while it was raining! He stopped coughing within a few minutes.
Now his windows are open and the humidifier is on and he is sleeping.
I just keep going in to check on him. I will probably camp out in his room tonight. He has never had croup and I have heard it can get really serious

Here is hoping it won't!

The first time Aiden had group, I thought he was having an asthma attack, and he was so scared. Happened quick, I rushed him to ER. By the time we fighters, he was nearly fine! Poor guy, hope he has a god nite.
I have heard of people rushing to the ER only to have the kid be fine because they got out in the cool air.
Keep raining! Keep raining!

I found this too. So it was grab a blanket and sit outside and look at the stars. It seemed to calm him down where as going in the steaming bathroom just made him more upset.

My coffee is just about ready. I went to drink it only to discover I had not turned it on. Today looks like it might be a nice day. My son is going hiking with my dad. They will do about 5 miles. My dad helps maintain the North Country Trail and after our windstorm last week there are lots of branches and trees to move. I intend to spend most of the day in the sewing room. I have several projects that need to be completed. However if the sun really does make an appearance I may have to spend some time outside. I just hope it dries up the huge puddles we have everywhere.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes!! Mom and baby are doing great!! My daughter had open heart surgery when she was a day old and I was so worried about her. They named him Talyn, different I know.

Congratulations! Is this your first grandchild? Our 5th grandson will be here the middle of December sometime

Congrats grandbaby! I hope surgery was uneventful for mama!

We're cleaning up the yard for the birthday party and I took a few things out of the shed and checked for eggs while I was in there: found TWO eggs today! They're slightly different in color, so I know it's not the SLW being an overachiever. :)

I hope everything went well with your daughter's delivery Kimmie!

RaZ - Congratulations on so many eggs! Do you think it is because your hens get outside a lot and get a lot of light? Or is it the good food?

That coffee picture is mesmerizing and that looks like my old camera in the background. I should get that sucker out.
