Oh bummerStill just one chick hatched out of 6 eggs set. I'm going to be quite disappointed if they were all quitters, and I'm sure the Broodies will not be too happy either.
Oh bummer
Maybe that one was just the early bird..and the rest will be out by morning.
Had you candled at all?
Someone will be able to help you. I haven't seen this in my chickens so I have no idea. But there are some very wise people here who might be able to give you an idea. Can someone please tell me what this hen is doing? She's been doing this now for about three weeks. Thanks guys!

My chickens do this when they eat a lot of food. I heard its to adjust their crop. And from that video it looks like she ate a lot recently. Can someone please tell me what this hen is doing? She's been doing this now for about three weeks. Thanks guys!
Looks like a crop problem. They often make a similar movement to adjust their crops, but doing it non stop indicates a problem. Can someone please tell me what this hen is doing? She's been doing this now for about three weeks. Thanks guys!

Mary, she is doing well in terms of maintaining her weight. She definitely eats. But only a little at a time. She's not lost any weight either. She's too fast to catch as well, so i haven't been able to inspect her. She doesn't stop when distracted...she's quite sharp
'Catching' them off the roost at night is definitely the way to go....haha!Catch her at night when she's roosting rather than the daytime rodeo with the fish net! If you can't hold her and actually feel her body, you really can't evaluate weight loss or condition. Mary
Put out some oranges.Baltimore Oriel![]()

It could also be neurological.

Might want to put her in a wire dog crate right in the coop/run for a few days to evaluate her intake and output.
Remove feed at night so you can check her crop first thing in the morning to see if it's emptying.
